Purpose

The Senior Project Manager for Deployment will lead the implementation and coordination of several Construction Industry Institute (CII) volunteer groups, which serve as a critical method for driving member engagement with CII, as well as supporting other initiatives within CII’s Deployment program, like LEAP.

 

Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Lead coordination of activities for assigned groups and initiatives, including but not limited to the CII Communities for Business Advancement and LEAP program. Responsibilities include scheduling and attending meetings and events involving industry member volunteers, academics, and CII staff, as well as ensuring the timely completion of tasks. Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions as necessary to ensure alignment with timelines and objectives. Promote effective communication and collaboration among project teams and stakeholders. Oversee project budgets and resource allocation to ensure optimal efficiency and utilization.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Engagement: Develop, organize, and maintain communication tools and resources for assigned volunteer groups and projects, including templates, communication plans, and tracking systems. Support documentation efforts, including business processes, activity reports, and project deliverables. Coordinate the collection and management of data and meeting materials related to assigned groups. Maintain accurate records in CRM systems, including group rosters and meeting attendance. Foster strong relationships with internal teams, external partners, and volunteers. Collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements, expectations, and dependencies, and with CII leadership to ensure that volunteer groups adhere to established guidelines and meet engagement standards.
  • Planning: Partner with the Deployment team and key stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables. Contribute to the development of comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource strategies. Identify potential risks and formulate contingency plans. Monitor emerging issues and ensure timely resolution to maintain project momentum.
  • Evaluation and Reporting: Conduct evaluations to assess project outcomes, impact, and lessons learned. Prepare regular reports detailing project status, accomplishments, and challenges for leadership review. Recommend improvements and strategies for future initiatives based on evaluation findings. Maintain thorough and accurate project documentation, including plans, reports, and records. Create detailed reports and presentations to communicate program results and insights. Ensure adherence to organizational policies, procedures, and applicable regulations. Identify and escalate engagement challenges to CII leadership for resolution.
  • Other Duties as Assigned: Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support departmental and organizational goals.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (e.g., Business Administration, Construction Management)

  • Five (5) years of experience in complex project or program coordination

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, virtual meeting platforms, and customer relationship management (CRM) software

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships with various stakeholders

  • Excellent organizational, decision-making, and time management skills

  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to analyze program data, prepare reports, and make data-driven recommendations

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree or higher in Engineering, Education, Business Administration, or related field

  • Greater than five (5) years of experience in management

  • Certification or training in project management, adult education, or workforce development

Salary Range

$75,000 + depending on qualifications

Working Conditions

  • Ability to work around standard office conditions

Work Shift

This position provides for a work-life balance with a typical 40-hour work week that includes flexible work arrangements. The CII hybrid schedule requires each employee to work on the UT Austin campus three days a week (currently Tuesday through Thursday).
