The University of Miami/UHealth Department of SCCC has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Manager, SCCC Project Management to work at the UHealth campus in Miami, Fl.

CORE JOB SUMMARY                                                                                                                                                                                                   

The Manager, SCCC Project Management (H) manages a team of project managers and oversees the execution of departmental or cross-functional SCCC projects. Ensures consistency in project delivery, resource allocation, and alignment with strategic goals.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS                                                                                                          

Oversees project intake, scope definition, and prioritization across the department. Establishes performance metrics and evaluation standards for project success. Allocates resources across multiple projects and teams. Reviews and approves project plans, timelines, and deliverables. Coordinates schedules and dependencies across teams and units. Monitors project portfolio performance and resolve escalated issues. Leads staffing decisions and team assignments in collaboration with leadership. Provides coaching and guidance to project managers and team leads. Ensures consistent onboarding and training practices across projects. Manages team performance and enforces institutional policies. Conducts quality reviews and ensures adherence to best practices. Maintains oversight of documentation and compliance standards. Develops communication strategies for leadership and stakeholders. Presents portfolio-level updates and strategic recommendations to senior leadership. Leads complex, high-impact SCCC projects and strategic programs. Leads quality assurance and continuous improvement efforts. Delivers executive-level presentations and reports on program/project outcomes. Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with university policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on university policy and procedures.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS                                                                                                         

Education: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field

Experience:  Minimum 5 years of relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

  • Operational Management: Optimizes day-to-day operations and processes for efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Organizational Development: Ability to implement strategies to improve organizational effectiveness, engagement, and manage change.

  • Financial Oversight: Knowledge of financial operations and management.

  • Team Leadership: Ability to create and maintain a cohesive and productive team environment, build positive working relationships and work collaboratively with others.

  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey ideas clearly and persuasively.

Department Specific Functions

Support the Deputy Director in advancing Sylvester’s strategic priorities and initiatives, ensuring alignment with institutional and cancer center goals. Coordinate and track progress of key strategic projects across departments, preparing regular updates and reports for leadership review. Partner with the Deputy Director and Research Administration team in the preparation of CCSG-related materials, including annual progress reports, data requests, and site visit presentations. Support the Deputy Director and Facilities Planning teams in managing space planning projects, including renovations, relocations, and new program buildouts. Develop executive summaries, correspondence, and reports on behalf of the Deputy Director for leadership meetings and institutional committees. Support special initiatives and emerging priorities assigned by the Deputy Director, including research collaborations, faculty engagement, and external partnerships.
